Our Story
1989: The Foundation of Flavor
Our story began in 1989 when my parents opened the doors to our restaurant. Perched on a hill with an eagle-eye view of the Libyan Sea, it was born from a desire to share authentic Cretan flavors with a modern, creative twist. As the ground floor of our family’s dream, the restaurant became a gathering place for locals and travellers alike, known for its “fused” traditional recipes and warm welcome.
1994: A Home Above the Sea
As the years passed, our guests wanted to stay longer in the peace of Xerokampos. In 1994, my parents expanded the vision, building our rooms and apartments directly above the restaurant. This created a unique atmosphere where the aroma of fresh cooking and the sound of the sea met, offering guests a true home-away-from-home experience.
2021: A New Generation
After decades of my parents’ hard work and dedication, the journey took a beautiful turn in 2021. I (the daughter) along with my family, stepped in to lead the business into the future.
The Legacy Continues
Today, Liviko View remains a family-run sanctuary. We honor the legacy my parents started in 1989 by maintaining that same passion for garden-to-table food, while modernizing our apartments and rooms to ensure every guest experiences the best of Crete. When you visit us, you aren’t just visiting a business; you are stepping into a story that has been unfolding for over 35 years.
A small travel through history
In Xerokampos at site “Farmakokefalo”, where the chapel of St.Nicholas stood, many ancient ruins have been found.
Systematic excavations have revealed a small but significant part of a Hellenistic city surrounded by a strong wall which width reached almost 2.5 meters. Also, houses with many rooms, squares and streets, of that period, have come to light.
Across the bay of Xerokambos there are 3 small islets called “Kavali”.
